Introducing the new IronMan XE CNC routers. Our user-friendly and high performance design, industry standard components, Blurry Custom's in-house technology and superior manufacturing practices allow us to deliver outstanding system performance at affordable prices.

The IronMan XE has 8 new upgrades and available options:

Rotary Ball Nut Drive. Our Rotary Ball Nut Drive design rotates the preloaded ball nut around a stationary mounted ball screw. This design improves mechanical efficiency, eliminating ball screw "whipping", enabling precise, high-speed X & Y axis positioning with ball screws of any length.

Preloaded ball nuts. Now standard on all IronMan XE systems as part of the Rotary Ball Nut Drive.

Higher Speed. The IronMan XE with the Gecko G540 Stepper package is now rated at 400 IPM for rapid, non-load bearing, X & Y axis movement and 200 IPM for "cutting" movement.

UltraDrive System. Blurry Customs is the only CNC router manufacturer to offer a positioning system like the UltraDrive. This option is rated at an amazing 1,500 IPM positioning / 900 IPM cuts! There are also no belts or gears as a ball nut integrated motor rotates around the ball screw! Our IPM ratings are observed and sustained speeds that you can rely on in real-world situations.

Magnetic Linear Encoders. Included with the UltraDrive option, they provide resolution of 5 microns (.0002"/ft/) & repeatability of 10 microns/ft. (.0004"/ft.)

Enhanced Frame. To further increase structural rigidity and provide additional work surface mounting options we added 2" x 2" TSLOT Aluminum extrusion inside the steel frame along the entire length of the X axis. Larger frame sizes use 3"x3" TSlot for even more rigidity.

New XY sizes. 60" length and 36" width are new additions to the IronMan XE family. We now offer 12", 24", 36" and 48" Y axis widths and 24" to 96" X axis lengths. Select the system that is ideal for your work needs and shop size. If you need a custom size or configuration we do not charge extra unless there are structural additions required.

Z Axis Options. To provide additional clearance and ability to cut and route thicker stock we have added an option with 4" additional Z axis clearance and travel.

Standard: 6" Clearance - 8" Travel

Optional: 10" Clearance - 12" Travel

Note: with Dual X axis ball screws you are able to recess mount your work surface up to 4" below the standard work surface. This adds an additional 4" of Z axis clearance.

Blurry Customs' UltraDrive system is an ingenious utilization of AC Brushless Servo motors and is born out of our development of the UltraMan XE. These motors are integrated directly into the ball screw drive-line to create a highly efficient design allowing for direct transmission of power from the motor to the moving component, without a rotating ball screw. UltraDrive delivers high-speed, "whip free" positioning with the benefits of low-maintenance, high durability and precision ball screws are know for, all in one package.

To take full advantage of our UltraDrive mechanical design we use magnetic linear encoders with 5 micron (.0002"/ft.) resolution and 10 micron (.0004"/ft) repeatability, Granite Devices servo drives to deliver ultra-high resolution, "dither-free", positioning and a SmoothStepper for a USB interface to complete the UltraDrive system package.
