The IronMan PCX is the result of our answering this simple question: how can we best improve the stability and rigidity of the IronMan XE? We pondered this question, and came up with the only natural answer, use our largest frame components and cast them in stone, literally.

Applying our PetraCast composite molding process to the IronMan's structural components delivers unrivaled rigidity for a desktop gantry style router. Increased frame rigidity improves soft metal milling performance as well as wood, PCB, foam, and wax.

The IronMan PCX also uses our UltraDrive system, an ingenious utilization of Frameless AC Brushless Servo motors born out of our development of the UltraMan XE. These motors are integrated directly into the ball screw drive-line to create a highly efficient design allowing for direct transmission of power from the motor to the moving component, without a rotating ball screw. UltraDrive delivers high-speed, "whip free" positioning with the benefits of low-maintenance, high durability and precision ball screws are know for, all in one package.

Combined with the magnetic linear encoders delivering 5 micron - .0002"/ft. resolution / 10 micron - .0004"/ft. repeatability, the UltraDrive system also delivers 1,800 IPM Rapid / 1,200 IPM Cut speeds for the IronMan PCX.

For those needing 4th and 5th axis capabilities we have also taken our optional Direct Servo Drive Trunnion/Rotary table and applied the PetraCast process to it providing additional rigidity and stability for 3D routing and milling projects.

Our PetraCast process involves casting structural components in a stone composite. This process combines the strength of steel and the superior rigidity and vibration dampening stone with our mechanically efficient frame and drive design to deliver superior speed and precision performance.

The Avenger AVS125C Auto Tool Change spindle with the 3 HP WC22 water-cooled AC Induction motor and proximity based Auto Tool Height Sensor integrated is standard. Add either the stationary or rotary tool rack and your ATC system is complete.
