Port. Bandsaw Product Guide
|Port. Bandsaw Guide|
Protable bandsaws are specialty tools used to trim pipes and angle iron to size. Cuts can be made in wood, plastic or metal.
Bandsaw are capable of making straight cuts in metal, which no other portable tool can make as accuratly. While these cuts are mostly straight, they are not accurately enough for woodworking. This limits the utility of a bandsaw in a woodshop.
The throat size of the bandsaw defines its maximum cutting width. As the cut is made, the saw straddles the workpiece. If the piece is too wide, the will hit the frame of the saw before the cut is complete. The distance from the frame to the blade defines the maximum cutting depth.
