The 38x2 drum sander is all new for 2012. This machine is designed with large capacities, dual sanding drums, and plenty of horsepower to tackle sanding jobs of all types. This sander features a cast-iron bed to ensure perfect flatness stability in the sanding table of the unit and maximum belt life for the high-quality feed belt. The cabinet is constructed out of durable powder coated steel while the internal framework and mechanical supports are made from cast iron and machined steel components.

The dynamically balanced sanding drums are over-sized at 6-1/2" to allow for maximum contact with the work piece and to reduce sandpaper temperatures. The first sanding drum is hard aluminum to provide a firm backing for the coarse grit paper while the second sanding drum is covered in vulcanized rubber to allow the drum to flex ever so slightly for better finish on the finer grit paper. The quick change mechanism makes paper changes quick and easy.

The 5HP main motor supplies plenty of power through dual drive belts to the sanding drums and is controlled by magnetic switch. Variable feed speed allows users to speed up or slow down the feed rate for a finer finish or more rapid stock removal. Triple dust collection ports manage the dust quickly and efficiently.
