Stock pots are large vessels for cooking liquids.
Most stock posts have two handles for pouring and cleaning. A lid is essential to prevent steam from escaping.
As with most cookware, the thickness and material used to form the bottom determine much of the pot's thermal properties.
Weight is also a good indicator. A heavier pot is made from ticker metal.
